The Moon

Our only natural satellite and many theories on its creation. The consensus appears to be that it was formed through the collision of a large rocky body crashed int the primordial Earth. The mass ejected by the collision became our moon.Earth's Moon is the fifth largest of the 200+ moons orbiting planets in our solar system. It has a diameter about one-quarter that of Earth and It orbits at a distance of about 239,000 miles NASA currently has three robotic spacecraft exploring the Moon – Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and the twin ARTEMIS spacecraft. Visited by man during the Apollo missions.
